Create a personal hotspot on your phone

A Personal Hotspot lets you use your phone's data to set up a Wi-Fi connection. You can then connect other devices to that connection, so they can access the internet. Creating a Personal Hotspot is also called tethering.

About using a Personal Hotspot on Pay Monthly plans

All our new Pay Monthly phone and SIM Only plans allow you to create a Personal Hotspot. If you have a plan with a limited amount of data, Personal Hotspot usage will be taken from your monthly data allowance.

If you have Unlimited data, you can use your phone as a Personal Hotspot to your heart's content. No need to worry about hefty bills. It's all covered by your Unlimited data plan.

Troubleshooting

We'll occasionally send you software updates to keep your Personal Hotspot working properly. If you're having problems, make sure you're running the latest version. Select your phone to find out how to update your software.

If you get a warning message about Personal Hotspot allowance, turn your phone off and back on again. This will fix most common issues. If you've run out of data allowance, you'll need to buy an Add-on to keep using it.
