Upgrading

If you joined us on or after 30 January, get in touch and we’ll help you get to where you need to go.

Time for an upgrade? This is where you need to be

Here's everything you need to know about upgrading with Three. Not what you're looking for? Change your price plan without upgrading.

When you can upgrade

Pay Monthly:

  • You can upgrade with no extra charge from 38 days before the end of your minimum term. You can upgrade early, but this will incur a early upgrade fee. Get in touch with our team to talk about upgrading early.
  • If you’ve got a Device plan on Three Your Way, you don’t need to pay it off in full before you upgrade to a new device plan, but you should think about the financial impact of having two monthly device plan agreements. Learn more in Device Plan FAQs.

Pay As You Go:

  • You can upgrade any time.

Rolling 1 month SIM:

  • You can upgrade after 3 months.

It's easy to check when your plan ends if you log in to Your account or use the Three app.

You'll also need to make sure you're up to date on all your bills before upgrading.

How to upgrade

The fastest way to upgrade is to log in to Your account. Just hit Can I upgrade? in the drop-down menu.

On the Three app, go to the plan menu and scroll down to the Contracts section. This will show you if you're eligible for an upgrade.

You can also visit us at your local Three store.

Mobile Broadband and Home Broadband upgrades

If you have a Mobile Broadband SIM, you can upgrade via Your account or by using the Three app.

If your Mobile Broadband plan includes a device or you're a Home Broadband customer, you'll need to speak to us. Contact us or visit us in-store.

We'll be contacting customers when 5G Broadband is available in their area. You'll need to wait to hear from us before you can step up to 5G.

Extra info on upgrading

Did you know you can trade in your old phone after you've upgraded? Once you've placed your upgrade order, visit our trade-in page to see what you could get for your old device.

Any recurring monthly charges you have, like insurance or Add-ons, will be carried over to your new plan. You'll need to cancel those separately if you don't want them.

If you're upgrading your device and plan, you'll keep the same phone number. Or, if you're joining us from another network and want to keep your number, find out more about switching to Three.
