How can I improve the wireless range between my MiFi modem and my computer?

Try not to put the MiFi modem on the floor or behind a sofa, as this can reduce the strength of the wireless signals. Put it on a table or other flat surface instead. Try to locate the MiFi modem in a central position in the house.

If your MiFi modem is on the ground floor and you’re having a problem picking up the signal upstairs, put the modem on a shelf.

Move the MiFi modem away from the computer and any other appliances that can cause electrical interference.

Move your wireless devices away from any appliances or objects that can cause interference, such as: microwave ovens, metal sheets, cordless phones, cordless keyboards and computer mice. If you think one of these appliances may causing interference, switch it off or move it to see if it is the cause.

If interference seems to happen randomly, check if other appliances – a microwave oven, for example - are being used at the same time that the interference occurs.

Laptops with built-in wireless adapters typically perform poorer than external wireless adapters, so you may want to use an external USB wireless adapter to improve performance.
